Blow dryers are one of those tools that we use at least weekly and sometimes daily. For some of us, they’re an extension of our own arm! Oddly enough, cleaning them isn’t always top of mind. But trust us: a gunked-up overheated blow dryer can really damage your hair. Read on to find some important tips and tricks for keeping your blow dryers as hard-working and hygienic as possible.
Our biggest tip? Make sure you’ve got a powerful hairdryer. We have several tools that fit the bill. Step 2: Locate the dryer’s vent, which is generally on the back end. Take the filter off simply by screwing it off, or in rare cases, you might need a screwdriver to help you remove it.
Step 3: Use the toothbrush to wipe out the crud and dust from the filter, wiping the toothbrush on the paper towel as you go. Experiment with the technique, to determine whether circular motions or back and forth motions work best to clean your particular filter.
Extra Step: You may choose to run the filter under running water, but if you do so, you must ensure that you dry it completely so you do not risk anything when you plug it back into the wall.
