How To Get Thicker Hair

How To Get Thicker Hair

We all want it: luxurious, full hair we can run our fingers through. Models make it look so easy, and we have a drawer full of tools and products to make thickness happen. But sometimes the very things we do to create volume and shine end up making our hair look thin and lifeless. But never fear, there are some tricks of the trade that you can employ to get thicker hair, which will leave you looking healthier, happier, and more confident.

1. Eat healthy

Having healthier, thicker hair doesn’t start with your hair care at all. By eating a healthy diet that is rich in Omega 3’s, you will set your scalp up for success. Although it might sound strange to you, the nutrients in foods really go the extra mile as far as your hair is concerned, and will leave you with a fuller, thicker head of hair. Foods with “good fats” in them are excellent sources of the vitamins and minerals needed for a thicker head of hair. Choose foods like salmon, avocado, nuts, fruits, and vegetables that will keep your natural oils flowing and lead to healthier shinier hair.

2.Take care of your scalp

Odds are you are not paying enough attention to your scalp. Day after day we expect it to be a haven for full, thick hair, but we often do more to hurt the prospect rather than help it. Loading your scalp down with products will do more harm than good when it comes to how thick your hair looks. Your scalp needs room to breathe, and too much product can clog hair follicles and disrupt your hair’s natural growth rhythm. Avoid over-shampooing and limit the hair products you use to keep your scalp healthy. Additionally, you can treat your scalp to a mini-massage to keep your hair growth system in full working condition.

3. Brush your hair

One great way to take care of your scalp is to brush your hair thoroughly. I mean think about it, when was the last time you brushed your hair for its own sake? When you do so, you are distributing your hair’s natural oils, which keep your hair healthier. Brushing also gets rid of dead skin and hair,  and it exfoliates your scalp. Without excess dead hair and skin cells, your hair will be thicker. This boar bristle ceramic brush is perfect for the job. Use it to brush your hair thoroughly to distribute your natural hair oils, and your hair will be fuller.

4. Be wary of heat

The use of high heat when you style your hair can weigh your hair down. But how else can you get the look you desire if not for the heat of a straightener or dryer?  If you have to style your hair with a blow dryer or a hair straightener, make sure to protect it first. Using a heat protectant will mitigate the damage from the heat. This leave-in protectant spray or foam based thermal protector both are leave-in products that offer de-tangling and protecting properties without feeling heavy. The heat will not have a chance against your hair if you protect your follicles.

5. Blow dry correctly

There are times you really do need to blow dry your hair. And as long as you use the heat protectant, make the most of your blow drying time by doing it correctly. Using our Platform Blowout Handleless Dryerwill give you more control and cut your drying time nearly in half, which means less heat to hurt your hair. Make sure that the heat is blowing up, as this will ensure that your hair has as much volume as possible. (Yes, your arm should definitely hurt when you are done if you are doing it the right way.)

6. Get some help

When all else fails, there are some products that will offer you the look of fuller hair you are going for even if nature is not always cooperating. This High Altitude Root Lift Spray will make the most of your hair’s thickness, without leaving your hair stiff or crunchy. And if you are blow-drying your hair, our Pump it Up Express Blow Out Serumis a great way to achieve maximum results concerning your hair and its thickness.

With a few simple tricks, you too can have the full, thick, luxurious hair that models have.
